Brian Kim - Multi-Emmy Award Winning Editor/Designer

Kenetic Typograpy in After Effects:

We've all seen those videos where the words pop up on screen in sync with the voiceover; twisting, turning and pivoting along the way.  If you've ever been curious, there are a number of ways to animate text like this, and I'm going to go over several of these methods, and why some are better in certain situations.

The 2.5D Effect - Bringing a Still Photograph to Life :

Once you know this effect, "pan and scans" will forever seem like the wimpy way out. In this presentation, we'll take a still photograph and turn it into a world which we'll fly a camera through. It's going to require a couple Adobe programs to get there, and we'll discuss a few extra plugins that bring the realism to another level.

About Brian Kim:

"Born and raised in Northern California, Brian Kim is a multi-Emmy Award winning
editor/designer who found his way to San Diego for an undergraduate degree in Visual
Arts and has had trouble leaving ever since. Over the last 15 years, he has played the
roles of creative director, designer, editor, compositor, and animator on a wide variety of
projects, from infographic animations for large corporations to broadcast graphic
packages for local networks.  Brian has always been amazed at how integral a role
Adobe products have played in his projects, in nearly every phase. Currently, however,
he is eagerly waiting for the Adobe product that helps him chase down his one-year
old."

The trick is to keep the work from looking "too computer-y" and
